Material relating to the acquisition of the sculpture by Karel Vogel of a standing figure of a woman, which was placed outside the South London Art Gallery. The unveiling ceremony took place on 11 April 1964. The file includes: correspondence with the V&A, the Carnegie United Kingdom Trust and the National Art Collections Fund about securing a grant to help with the acquisition; a press release; a typed sheet of information about Vogel; photocopies of an invitation to the unveiling of the sculpture; and 14 press cuttings. There is also a photocopy of an article about Vogel by Charles Spencer from The Studio; two black-and-white photographs of the sculpture; the order of proceedings for the unveiling; and 12 black-and-white photographs of the unveiling.
