Material relating to the exhibition ‘Paintings of Camberwell’, held at the South London Art Gallery from 18 June to 1 July 1961. Includes: a press release (local and national versions); a copy of a standard letter sent to schools about the exhibition; preliminary lists of pictures to include in the exhibition; a letter to the principal of Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts granting him use of the gallery on 7th, 8th and 9th June [for a temporary exhibition?]; and photocopies of 11 press cuttings, many of which are about a large model (12 feet) for cathedral doors made by children from several London schools, over 2 years, under the guidance of two artist teachers from Camberwell School of Arts. There are also six black-and-white contact prints of the doors.
