Scope and content

Photographs of the group exhibition Because a Fire Was in my Head which was held at the South London Gallery from 5 April to 21 May 2000. It included works by Craig Bell, Guillame Bijl, John Carson, Chad McCail, Yael Robin, Erasmus Shroter, Mary Evans, Keiko Sato, Suzana Stankovic, Bridget Smith, Patrick Maunsell, Willem Oorebeek, Joshua Sofaer, Mike Kelley. Curated by Jeremy Akerman and Zorica Vasic. The thirteen artists captured the theme of scale and perception, exploring the apocalypse, utopia and our importance and insignificance in the scheme of things.
