Scope and content
Photographs of the solo exhibition (e.) Twin Gabriel: Floating – Floccinaucinihilipilification' that took place at the South London Gallery from 4 December 1997 to 18 January 1998. There are also photographs of BBC TV O-Zone: Catatonia filmed on 13 January 1998.
Else Gabriel and Ullf Wrede (=TWIN GABRIEL) work in an art-making partnership based on free association and scientific research. Work in the show was in a variety of media and included Limonade, a series of 150 large-scale computer-generated prints, based on photocopied drawings and collages of the flora and fauna of the Ivory Coast found by the Twins in a Berlin flea market.
The exhibition came to London from the Twins’ base in Berlin as the result of an increasingly dynamic cultural relationship between the two cities and was sponsored by the Arts Council and IFA, the International Institute of Foreign Affairs in Berlin.
