A typescript copy of a speech delivered by Henry Irving at a public meeting on 18 July 1890 [the speech was reproduced in a pamphlet produced by the South London Fine Art Gallery in which it is stated that the meeting took place at the Suffolk Street Gallery of the Royal Society of British Artists]. Irving, who was an actor, was invited to speak by William Rossiter.
