Scope and content

Photographs of the video installation 'Vanished! A Video Séance' by Brian Catling and Tony Grisoni which was shown at the South London Gallery from 25 to 31 October 1999. The video installation drew on a true story from the 1930s about an elderly mother and father living with their young daughter in bleak isolation on the Isle of Man, which Catling and Grisoni spent 3 years researching.

The artists converted the gallery into a contemporary cinema for the duration of the screening, showed at set times during the day.
